Edward Mountain MSP, who launched the Raigmore Parking Campaign, welcomed the decision and commented: “I welcome the work of NHS Highland to secure additional and controlled parking for patients, visitors and staff at the hospital.
“Thanks to the Raigmore Parking Campaign this issue has been kept on the agenda and I am delighted that the hard work of the campaign’s supporters has resulted in the campaign achieving its aim. I will continue to monitor NHS Highland closely to ensure the parking solution is delivered.
"I would also like to pay credit to the overwhelming public support to my petition to resolve the issues at Raigmore. I’ve collected nearly a 1,000 signatures which shows the strength of feeling on this issue.
"It is clear that the voice of the community has been heard.”
