Coronation Celebrations across Caithness

Pvst. Struan Mackie with Thurso Community Council Member (and event organiser) Elspeth Husband

Hundreds of people came out to join the fun at Thurso Community Council's coronation street party on Sunday.

The day was formally opened by the town's provost, Cllr Struan Mackie, who had travelled to the coronation of King Charles III on the Saturday. Provost Mackie said, "it has been an amazing last few days, seeing the community come together to celebrate this moment of history. "The town is buzzing and events in Castletown, Halkirk and John O'Groats have been really well attended. "I would like thank all the volunteers and organisers for all their hard work... I am incredibly proud of the County.
