Councillors Back Vaccine Transport Plan

At todays joint Ward Business Meeting of Thurso and Northwest Caithness (Ward 2) and the Wick and East Caithness (Ward 3) wards, Councillors unanimously approved funding for Caithness Rural Transport. This will support transporting vulnerable and elderly constituents to and from vaccine centres.

Struan Mackie welcomed the development and fully backed the scheme, "we will only beat COVID-19 as a community. Priority groups must be be given every opportunity to access the vaccine, regardless of where they live. For many that will require safe transport to and from their home or residence."

Those wishing to book the service should revert to the fantastic Caithness Voluntary Group and their email transport co-ordinator Coreen Campbell at coreen@cvg.org.uk or call 07856 740649
